About the Producer:
This Ethiopian natural lot comes from smallholder farmers in Hambela, in the village of Benti Nenka. The coffee is processed at the Benti Nenka Coffee Processing Station and supplied through Wete Ambela. The station receives cherries from around 500 smallholder farmers, each typically managing small plots of 1.5 to 2 hectares.
Processing Method:
This lot is processed as a natural coffee to highlight fruit sweetness, florals, and clarity:
- Ripe cherries are delivered by local smallholder farmers to the Benti Nenka processing station.
- The station specializes in natural and anaerobic processing.
- Careful drying helps preserve the coffee’s clean sweetness, bright acidity, and expressive fruit character.
About the Region:
Benti Nenka is located in the Hambela Wamena sub-region of West Guji, Oromia. The station operates at 2,107 meters above sea level, while the surrounding farms grow coffee at elevations of 1900–2300 meters. This high-altitude environment contributes to the coffee’s floral aromatics, vivid acidity, and clean cup profile.
Why We Love This Coffee:
Benti Nenka is a vibrant and elegant natural Ethiopian coffee. It combines violet florals, crisp red apple, and a bright, sweet finish with lactic fruit character, lychee,, pineapple, cola, and ginger. A beautiful choice for filter brewing, especially for those who love aromatic and fruit-forward Ethiopian naturals.
