The Coffee

El Diviso Gesha Washed comes from the family farm of Nestor Lasso in Bruselas, Pitalito, in Colombia's Huila department. Grown at approximately 1,750 metres above sea level, this lot brings together the Gesha variety and washed processing.

Expect a clean, floral cup with notes of Earl Grey, candied apple, and milk chocolate. The body is light to medium, with a long finish: a profile that invites you to explore its aromas and sweetness with each sip.

The Variety

This lot is made from Gesha. It forms part of El Diviso's move from traditional coffee varieties towards a broader selection of distinctive varieties under Nestor's involvement.

This selection has a tea-like floral character, with fruit sweetness and a gentle chocolate note.

Processing Method

This coffee undergoes a washed process, with cherries picked entirely by hand.

• Ripe cherries are selected and picked by hand
• The cherries are depulped to remove the skin and fruit pulp
• The coffee is fermented to break down the remaining mucilage
• The beans are washed clean with water
• The coffee is dried to a moisture level suitable for export

The Producer & Farm

Finca El Diviso was founded by José Uribe Lasso, Nestor's father. The family's coffee-growing experience spans three generations, with Nestor helping guide the farm towards distinctive varieties and new approaches to processing.

Nestor began training as a coffee cupper at just 14 years old. He later visited farms with advanced production and processing practices and studied coffee processing at several educational centres.

This combination of family experience, sensory training, and continued learning shaped the farm's direction. Today, El Diviso focuses on producing specialty coffee.
