AB Inoi Ndimi

Ndimi Factory – Inoi Farmers Cooperative Society

Kenya Kirinyaga

Sweet and structured with notes of caramel, black tea, red apple, and plum. Delicate florals and a rich, satisfying mouthfeel.

About the Producer:
This coffee comes from the Ndimi Factory, managed by the Inoi Farmers’ Cooperative Society in Kirinyaga County, Kenya. The cooperative has 540 active members, cultivating SL-28, SL-34, Ruiru 11, and Batian at altitudes of 1650–1800 meters. The factory is located on the foothills of Mount Kenya, in an area renowned for its fertile red volcanic loam soils and ideal coffee-growing climate.

Processing Method:
The coffee is processed using Kenya’s traditional washed method:

  • Cherries are hand-sorted to remove underripe and defective fruit.
  • They are pulped and fermented overnight.
  • The parchment is washed and separated into P1, P2, P3, and P light grades before being dried on raised beds for 10–20 days.
  • Farmers use the coffee pulp mixed with cow manure as natural fertiliser on their farms.

About the Region:
Kirinyaga County borders Nyeri and Embu and is known for producing some of Kenya’s finest coffees. With 1400 mm of annual rainfall, an average temperature of 20.5°C, and nutrient-rich soils, it offers ideal growing conditions for complex, high-quality coffees.

Why We Love This Coffee:
AB Inoi Ndimi offers the classic Kenyan cup profile—bright, complex, and deeply sweet. Its black tea and caramel base is elevated by juicy red apple and plum notes, finishing with refined florals.
